The Story of Valentines Day

In 270 AD marriage was outlawed by Emperor Claudius of Rome. Claudius thought that married men were not good soldiers. Claudius wanted to be known as the only God.Christianity was outlawed .... Valentine was a Bishop who invited young couples to him to get married in secret.
He was arrested in due time and brought before Claudius who admired his drive and conviction . Claudius tried to convince him to work for him and denounce Christianity.Valentine at this point in time had met and fallen in love with the jailer's daughter Asterius who was blind. During this time Asterius , through some miracle, was healed and she could see.Valentine , when he heard he was to be sentenced, wrote her a note of farewell..: "From you Valentine.." before he was killed on February 14, 270 A.D.
He was beaten, stoned and then his head was cut off...

What do you think of Saint Valentines Day?
Will you celebrate it? how?

Very intersting, thank you.

We do less and less as the years march on, but flowers and a card are always a must :o)
