huh?(I scratch my head...) "what?"
"I mean, when I was over there, it seemed like the could really use some toys.
I don't need anything anyway.."
"hmmmm..we could do something..we usually take supplies anyway there... ok"
:)
I wonder what causes kids to make small things happen ..like this...

Who Knew? Underground LA!

History Channel
December 11

There used to be a complete underground railroad under Los Angeles that was used for a train that went everywhere! The film showed the parking spaces, and later for speakeasies where people would gather to talk and drink. he speakeasies were popular in the 20s and 30s . The police handled the action, which in 1929 was $30,ooo,ooo! It was said the police protected the action.
General Motors and Firestone Tires bought the tunnels and dismantled them.
they convinced the public that it would be cooler to buy a car and drive to the suburbs!

Go By Outside-looking in(Jeanette...

Dream time

I had some dream time with the family...
:) It was ecstatic and joyful and relaxing...
funny thing is ; you don't have to have much of this
to be totally at peace
and recharged!
We had fun and dreaming was ever present..
The Aborigines use their dream time to focus their intuition
on what will happen in the future and recharge as a group
in dance, meditation...

Fuel fungus

The Week
November 21, 2008 Vol8, Issue 388

On the news page of The Week Gary Strobel was cited as discovering an unusual fungus Gliocladium roseum; which was emitting a strong smelling gas. He was studying the antibiotic properties when he found out that this fugnus was breathing out hydrocarbons.
Apparently, hydrocarbons ar the same compustible compounds found in oil, gasoline and disel fuel.the fugnus make hydrocarbons after eating astringy plant fiber caled a common cellulose.
This is very exciting!
Stroble thinks that these plants could eb grown in factories like baker's yeast and they would not take up much space.
What do you think?
A possibility?

Teens and New Drugs

Nov.10, 2008
The Doctors on CBS
(An educational forum)

The doctors mentioned a new drug which can be purchased at tobacco stores called Salvia.
The tobacco is mixed with a heavy concentration of LSD. It makes it hard to walk, and the pressure coming from inside of the person makes it hard to focus. The person feels that the only important field of activity is one yard in front of him or her.

In addition to strawberry meth powder that kids are given at school some kids are offered a cheese powder that is blended with heroine and Tylenol P.M. This makes it hard for a kid to breathe.
Some kids throw in alcohol and some kids die ; they loose all control.
Some kids are snorting heroin.
Some kids are pouring alcohol up their rectum and inot their inerstines wiht a beer bong. the docotrs say that this causes severe damage to the intestines.
Some teens are putting vodka on tampons and inserting them. this causes sever damage as well.
It is unclear to me why kids would do these things.
What do you think about it?

Would you read "Eat Pray and Love"? by Gilbert

Would you read "Eat Pray and Love" by Gilbert?
It is an incredible journey covering an emotional roller coaster ride through a marriage, an affair, and Italy, India and Bali. To a lesser degree it covers the culture and community of these countries.
It talks about learning to find God, love and balance.

Happy Veterans' Day!

Happy Veterans Day!
I have been thinking about all of the veterans who have served our country today.
Whenever I see a veteran it is usually someone with a pin or a hat which points to their service.
There are some bloggers here who have veterans in their family.
thank you so much for your hard service and dedication.
Please leave comments.

Let's say everyone is going full throttle in one direction. You decide to do full throttle in the opposite direction right in front of them...:)
You might want to think that over!
Maybe the big meaning of your life is to be a warning !
Beware if you hear people saying things like;" Be careful..you don't want to end up like her /him!"
:) comments?:)
Oh and I love your journals!

Working hard to raise the barn....

Spent days working on fundraising for scholarship kids at the school here...
It has been successful and gratifying!:)
Interestingly lots of the people who work in the businesses I connected with; whether in the front or in the kitchen were the ones who really had the interest of the kids tied up with their heart strings!:):)
So that was great:)
On to more mountains to climb!

Walden's world

My teenager asked us : what is better? A life full of complexities in a big city?
Or to live simply in the country; without a lot of possessions?
It can be indeed a quandary; we all like to be entertained and to see a museum or go to a concert
now and then. The discussion is about what happens when preoccupation with civilisation goes before true happiness, family life, and enjoyment of nature.
Well, I wonder what most people would choose...
